I know that, and I knew that by the time I was 13 and watched the beatniks drool, puke, stumble and die. Nugent: You could not possibly be Ted Nugent by any other means than clean and sober. What is your perspective on these things? Where do you cull such a high energy persona from? BUT, you're known for taking a stance on being "straight edge," and are cited as one of the early influences of the straight edge movement. Many might say that you are crazy due to drinking, or heck, drugs. Spotlight: You have a lot of fans that are drawn to you due to your crazy antics on the stage, and on the screen. Nugent to Zumba like an animal both professionally and privately. I cause much anguish and suffering to denial-riddled liberals every day by simply doing the right thing. I manage and breed exotic animals from around the world on our SpiritWild Ranch in Texas. I kill, butcher and donate many tons of pure venison for soup kitchens and homeless shelters each fall and winter. I tour 60-70 maniacally intense concerts each summer with the world's most uppity R&B and R&R band of passionate, gifted musicians. I beat the living hell out of my guitars on a daily basis - constantly creating defiant freedom-addicted ultra rock songs. I have numerous annual Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids charity camps in a few states. I operate a functioning big game hunting operation in Michigan and Texas. I perform law enforcement duties with local, state and federal agencies I serve on the board of directors of the NRA, Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners of CA and work diligently with numerous state gun rights, hunting rights and conservation organizations. I work nonstop with elected officials in various states on various issues. I guide and outfit hundreds of hunting families around the world through our Sunrize Safaris outfit. I do 10-20 media interviews each week, conduct hell-raising speaking presentations around the country for universities, special events, charities and corporations. I write weekly features for Washington Times, Human Events,, and about a dozen sporting publications. The Nugent family rages on producing our incredible Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild TV show on Outdoor Channel all year long, doing nonstop charity work for children's and military charities. As the album cover on his seminal recording, "Cat Scratch Fever" suggests Ted Nugent is a wild and enduring fixture in the presence of mankind, and within the working history of rock 'n' roll. Nugent's presence is felt in varying capacities in just about any realm. From guitar, to guns the stage to reality television - heck he even has a post as a reserve police officer in his hometown. Call him crazy - for better or for worse - Ted Nugent holds nothing back. Harder still is it to find a character as charismatic and passionate about his convictions. It's hard to believe Ted Nugent has been performing professionally since 1958 - starting at the tender age of 10 years old, and finding early fame as a teenager whilst shredding guitar for the Amboy Dukes.
